I would enter... but I already live in Swampscott! Salem is a great place to visit (or live) and I'm sure the winner will have a fabulous time.

Also, I got an uncorrected proof of The Map of True Places at the ALA conference in Boston in January and I just wanted to tell you how much I loved it. I loved it for all the same reasons I loved The Lace Reader... and it's always fun to see your little town and that bar where your entire high school class seems to congregate every night mentioned in a book! I can't wait for the next one!

Any visit to Salem is a great visit! Hope you can put in a good word to your publisher to put out a Large Print edition in conjunction with the regular edition for low vision readers to read right away. Thank you.

Jen,

Tell your mom I said "Thanks for spreading the word." And I'm glad you enjoyed it.

"Bone Lace" was my planned as my next book until TLR was purchased by Harper Collins. That changed everything. I think that my third book will cover the story lines that I originally intended for "Bone Lace" but at this time, I'm not sure what the title of that book will be. Might be BL, might be something else.

My second book ("The Map of True Places") will be out May 4th and you can read the first few chapters from it if you go to http://www.MapOfTruePlaces.com.

Best wishes,

Brunonia

Gloria,

Thanks for the kind words about TLR. The movie version is coming along. It looks like we have a director interested and the casting process has started. Making a movie is so different from writing a book in a room by yourself so I have to step back and let the Hollywood folks work their magic at their own pace. So many moving parts to coordinate. I'll blog about it as soon as things are definite.

In the meantime, my second book (The Map of True Places) will be out May 4th. You can read the first few chapters here: www.MapOfTruePlaces.com.

Best Wishes,

Jen,

I'm delighted you loved TLR. My second book (The Map of True Places) will be out May 4th. You can read the first few chapters here: www.MapOfTruePlaces.com. Bone Lace will probably be my third book but I'm not sure that I'll use that name for it. Once I start writing, everything comes into a different focus and the title just organically appears. Might be Bone Lace, might not.

Best wishes,

Today I finished "The Lace Reader" and it is a treasure. The story is woven as intricately as the Ipswich lace. I can only imagine what "The Map of True Places" holds for us. Thank you.

I just googled "The Lace Reader" to check the spelling of your name, to list the book as one of my favorites on Facebook, and I find out you have another book due out! I'm thrilled!

Reading your first book felt to me much like actually reading lace -- a wonderful correspondence of subject and construction.
