My new book, The Map of True Places, will be available on May 4th. In the meantime, you can read excerpts from it starting today and in the weeks to come. It’s a story about relationships and family and finding your true place in the world when you have no map to follow. If you’d like to read the first part of the book now, please click here.     At my mother’s prompting, I just read the Lace Reader and loved it! In the back, it says that you are/were writing a follow-up called Bone Lace, but I don’t see anything about that online anywhere :( I’m excited to read your new book when it comes out in May, but it is clearly unconnected to the Lace Reader. What happened to Bone Lace? Could you please give me an update since I didn’t know about your blog until tonight?

    Jen,

    I’m delighted you loved TLR. My second book (The Map of True Places) will be out May 4th. You can read the first few chapters here: http://www.MapOfTruePlaces.com. Bone Lace will probably be my third book but I’m not sure that I’ll use that name for it. Once I start writing, everything comes into a different focus and the title just organically appears. Might be Bone Lace, might not.

    Tell your mom I said “Thanks for spreading the word.” And I’m glad you enjoyed it.

    “Bone Lace” was my planned as my next book until TLR was purchased by Harper Collins. That changed everything. I think that my third book will cover the story lines that I originally intended for “Bone Lace” but at this time, I’m not sure what the title of that book will be. Might be BL, might be something else.

    My second book (“The Map of True Places”) will be out May 4th and you can read the first few chapters from it if you go to http://www.MapOfTruePlaces.com.
